Whānau Fun Day on the Train

Te rā ngahau mō te whānau i runga tereina-Whānau Fun Day on the Train tells the story of a whānau who travel on the train from Pukekohe to Eden Park to watch rugby league.

Along the way they learn about the Māori history of Tāmaki Makaurau while supporting the normalising of te reo Māori in a public space and original Māori placenames. It was also an opportunity to think about using public transport and getting out of cars.

While the App was designed for tamariki at kura kaupapa Māori, it’s also relevant to anyone who is interested in the cultural landscape of Tāmaki Makaurau and te reo Māori as its dual language function makes it accessible to everybody.
